I met up with a group of people from high school on Saturday. We celebrated Cinco de Mayo with frozen drinks on the deck, then moved on to dinner at a nice little Italian restaurant.
I hadn't seen two of them since high school.
And nothing had changed.
Or everything has. We are all doing very different things in very different surroundings, but we are all the same people we were twelve years ago. As one of my astute friends remarked, "we're all in different places, but it all makes sense."
I am not saying that we haven't grown -- we have -- but that all of us have followed our own natures. And everyone seems happy with the place they're in.
And it was really fun to get out of the house for an evening.
